MISSION STATEMENT

We are God's children, seeking to know God and God's will for our renewal and healing.

Celebrating and reflecting Christ's love, Wasatch Presbyterian Church invites all people, with special concern for the young, to grow in faith within a nurturing community, through worship, learning and service to others.

The Spirit challenges us to minister to the hungry and hurting, to respect people's freedom of conscience, and to be good stewards of God's gifts, to the glory of the triune God.

Wasatch Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of 1700 East and 1700 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.

1. Coming from 1300 East: Turn east at 1700 South (Westminster College is on the corner) and proceed to 1700 East. 2. Coming from I-15 or I-80: Take I-15 to I-80 east. Exit at 1300 East and proceed north to 1700 South. Turn right on 1700 South (as above) and travel east to 1700 East. 3. Coming from Foothill Drive: Go West on 1700 South (there is a light at the corner and an Episcopalian Church currently under construction). Proceed to 1700 East.

    HISTORY

    Wasatch Presbyterian Church was founded by the Presbytery of Utah on June 28th, 1946. It was an amalgamation of Third and Westminster Churches. On August 31, 1948, ground was broken for the present church building. On June 30, 1974, a tragic fire roared through the sanctuary and adjoining areas of the church. Wasatch members and friends from other churches spent many hours in the massive cleanup that followed. The church is now in a period of growth and service to the community of Salt Lake.

    We're glad you've made it to "Virtual Wasatch" here on the Web. Now we hope you'll find us in the flesh! Wasatch is a welcoming community located on the east side of Salt Lake City, situated between the University of Utah and Westminster College. You'll find details about worship, Sunday School for all ages, and the rest of our church life elsewhere on this page. Suffice it to say that there is a place for you at Wasatch! From our Preschool through Elementary Fellowship to the Youth Program to the Association for Widowed Persons, from Basic Bible Study to training for Stephen Ministry, we encourage all members of our family to find the spot(s) where they can live out their call as followers of the risen Christ.

     Please call if we can be of service to you, or if you have questions about the life of Wasatch that cannot be answered here. Know that you are always welcome at Wasatch Presbyterian Church.
